4th Street and Glenmawr Gardens receive Little Garden Club Grant!

Congratulations to the N. Fourth and Glenmawr gardeners! Their vision and dedication make our neighborhood green spaces more beautiful. We are pleased to announce that GENCA was awarded a grant from the Little Garden Club of Columbus for the requested $871. This money will be used to purchase plantings and materials to improve the boulevards of N. Fourth Street and Glenmawr Avenue. In addition to this amount, GENCA governance board has agreed to fund an additional $344.49 to cover the cost of mulch and compost. The focus of the grant proposal was an emphasis on plantings that would attract birds, bees, and butterflies, providing year-round visual stimulation and education about nature’s life-cycles.

The letter from the project chairman stated:
“We are happy to support this worthy nature garden. This is a project that is in keeping with the interests of the Garden Club of America, of which we are a member. We need more neighborhood green spaces that will become a part of the community and allow nature to be enjoyed by all.”

Many thanks to the Little Garden Club of Columbus for this generous grant and to the neighbors who made it possible!
